Who I am
This website, rhysautomates.com, is run by Rhys Maidment, a GST-registered sole trader in Queensland, Australia. “I” and “me” means Rhys. Contact: [email protected].
What I collect
If you send a question through the form on the home page, I collect your name, email address and question, plus your business name if you give it. (Earlier versions of the site had a “call me back” form that collected name, mobile, business name, email and best time to call – those entries are handled in the same way.) The form also records when it was sent, your browser type and your approximate country.
If you use “See it with your business” to build a personalised demo, I collect your business name, plus your website address, logo, area, mobile and email if you give them. If you give a website address, the site reads that public web page once to pick up your logo and main colour. Your mobile and email are not shown on the demo page. To stop misuse, the site keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for up to a day to limit how many demos can be made.
If you tap “I want this for my business” on a demo, I collect your name, email, mobile if you give it, and website choice, and the details are sent to me with a link to your demo.
If you become a client, your private setup page collects your business details, contact phone and email, ABN if you give it, service area and suburbs, opening hours, price guide, booking preferences and logo, so I can build your quote page.
Quote pages I run for my clients (at rhysautomates.com/q/…): if you ask a business for a quote there, your name, mobile, email if you give it, suburb, car details, description and photos are sent to that business so they can quote and book you in. I handle them on the business’s behalf and don’t use them for anything else.
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t fingerprint you and doesn’t track you across other websites – I only see totals, like which pages were viewed, which site sent the visit, the browser type and the country. There are no advertising trackers, and this site doesn’t set its own cookies. Private setup pages and the admin page aren’t counted.
The sample quote tool and chat inside the demos run in your browser – nothing you type into them is sent to me.
Why I collect it
Only to reply to you and to set up and run my automated quoting service for you – by email, unless you ask me to contact you another way. I won’t add you to a mailing list.
Who else handles it
I don’t sell or rent your information. It is only shared with the service providers that run this site:
- Cloudflare hosts the website, stores form entries, emails them to me and counts visits (Web Analytics).
- Google (Gmail) holds the emailed copy in my inbox.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts, and the Instagram videos load from Instagram (Meta) when you scroll to them. These companies can see your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
These providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States.
How long I keep it
Personalised demo pages and their logos are deleted automatically after 60 days. Form entries (including “I want this” requests and quote requests) are deleted from Cloudflare automatically after 12 months. A client’s setup details are kept while they’re a client, and deleted after 12 months if they don’t go ahead. Emailed copies stay in my inbox until I delete them – just ask and I will.
Keeping it safe
Access to form entries and my inbox is password-protected and limited to me.
Your rights
I aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles: collect only what I need, use it only for the reason you gave it, keep it secure, and let you see and fix it.
To ask for a copy of your information, correct it, or have it deleted, email [email protected]. I’ll reply within 30 days.
Complaints
Please email me first. If you’re not happy with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
